This is a re-roof we did in Sneinton. After stripping off the old slates we checked for damage to the timbers because we found that under the slates there wasn’t any protective felt.
After stripping the roof and completing the checks we used a breathable felt to form the first protective layer against the elements
Then we would get all the tiles up. We used Marley edgemere`s which look very modern and are concrete so do not need much maintenance.
After laying in the tiles we cut our end to the verge and around the chimney. When this stage was complete we could finish the lead work and step flashing around the chimney.
The final stage was to lay the ridge tiles on top using a 3-1 ratio sand and cement for a strong bond.
